Mixing

The right mix can make a good recording sound AMAZING.

Bob Decker wrote this beautiful song “My Lady Dancing” about the love of his life, his beautiful wife Beverly. He recorded it at home.   Then we were asked to remix it (and the entire album)

Listen with good ear phones and compare the home mix to our Professional Mix.

We took the original mix apart and started from scratch. Re-did all the edits, the EQ, compression, and effects on every track and created a brand new mix. Compare the home studio mix with ours. Can you now hear the articulation of the guitar strings, the stereo spaciousness?  The voice now has clarity and presence.  The real cello can be heard interveaving through the melody.  If you have speakers set up properly you will hear a 4 dimensional holographic sonic landscape. The pure love in the song shines through. This is what its all about!

If you record at home, we can mix your tracks better than you can.
If you record here, we can mix and produce you or your band, your album, or single.

You want you music to sound the best it can?   Let me mix it for you.

There are three really big things you need to get a great mix.
  1. A great song that was played with passion and recorded properly.
  2. A scientifically designed and constructed mix room with all the right equipment.
  3. A skilled, experienced mix engineer that loves your music and will go the extra mile.

The Mix Room

Acoustic designers have a saying. In the beginning,  God created sound, and it was perfect.

Then man invented the room…………………… : (

Sound is very complex.  It bounces back and forth between all the walls, floor and ceiling and anything else in the room. It messes up the low end and the bass the most. That why most home recordings can’t compete.  I don’t care what brand of speakers you bought. Unless your mixing in the perfect room, you can’t hear your music correctly.

Great mixes need a great mixing environment. That’s why we have a custom designed control / mix room at Dreamery Productions.  Designed by a team of electrical , mechanical and acoustic engineers.  Here in the studio we hear what was really recorded.  We mix with precision and accuracy.
